Dicky Sunshine was born in Philadelphia and grew up in West Philly. His parents brought the joy of music into his life at a young age. He grew up to the sounds of the radio and 45 rpm singles. Artist like the King of the Blues, B B King, Bo Didley and Little Willie John, etc., were an early influence as well as concerts and shows at the Nixon Theater located on the 52nd Street strip in West Philadelphia.
This is where a 10 years old Dicky saw live performances by Screaming J Hawkins, Sarah Vaughn, The Coaster and many other stars of that time period.
During the mid sixties a very cool jazz scene captivated his mind and he took advantage of the local venues where the jazz greats performed. By late sixties he was full on to the psychedelic music scene and lifestyle.
He met a Brother from The Brotherhood of Eternal Love who taught him yoga and brought a lot of Sunshine into his life which he in turn enjoyed giving away. He became a strong proponent , stoking the engines of the revolution, And when I say revolution I mean, revelation of the thought processes that evolve into higher consciousness.
For many years he traveled this path creating his music along the way. Starting with the bass he studied at Granoff Music Studios. Then he branched off into guitar. And he loved playing his guitars.
He wrote and recorded from my home studios in Sonoma California and Oahu Hawaii - both very inspirational places to live. All the songs on his albums are self composed and produced. He plays all the instruments on, "Earth Is A Sunny Day." Take a listen to the music of the cosmos. Hope you enjoy it enough to start downloading.
