Bio For
Cornell Rochester
I have been a professional musician, composer and/or drummer, who has performed and recorded many projects around the world, since 1980.
Starting out, in 1980, with The Odean Pope Saxophone Choir, at the Moers Festival in West Germany.
After the Moers Festival, I began touring with The Jamaaladeen Tacuma Band. I received my first record deal with Gramma Vision Records while performing with Gerald Veasley, The Rochester/Veasley Band.
Other ensembles include but are not limited to:
The Joe Zawinul Syndicate,
Pianist Friedrich Gulda,
The Munich Philharmonic Orchestra.
Uri Caine Bach Goldberg Variations and his Mahler project.
Got another C.D. deal with Moers Music in 1993 with my C.D. Cornell Rochester & The N.P. Boys (I Said Your Mother's On The Pipe).
With my Band Cornell Rochester & The N.P. Boys I was able to do several European Tours on Major Festivals. In 2006 recorded C.D. and Toured with Former Philadelphia Orchestra French Hornist Adam Unsworth C.D. (Excerpt This).
Since 2015 I have been playing behind Tonya Dorsey and other Gospel Choirs. In 2017 I self-produced a C.D. called the Cornell W. Rochester (North Philly Global Warming Project). The Theme for my February 9th, 2024, Performance is called (Getting Back to my Roots) I started out playing with Strait ahead Jazz Trio’s & Quartets.
